Aftermarket

Aftermarket, Reverse Engineering & CNC Machining.

OEM Dynamics provides aftermarket reverse engineering and CNC machining services for worn, damaged and obsolete mechanical components across automotive, off-road, mining and industrial applications.

When original parts are no longer available or fail under demanding conditions, our team can assess, redesign and manufacture high-quality replacement components to restore performance and improve reliability.

We specialise in reverse engineering mechanical parts including splined shafts, slip hubs, couplings, pump drive components and power transmission systems. By analysing existing components, we not only replicate parts but also identify opportunities to improve strength, durability and service life.

Our in-house capabilities include precision CNC turning, spline cutting, gear cutting, keyway machining and we can organise advanced finishing processes such as nitriding and heat treatment. This allows us to deliver complete engineered solutions from concept through to finished component.

A recent project involved reverse engineering a splined slip hub and shaft assembly originally manufactured as a two-piece welded component. OEM Dynamics redesigned the part into a single-piece CNC machined component using 4140 steel, eliminating the weld joint and significantly improving structural integrity. The finished component was spline cut and nitrided to enhance wear resistance and extend operational life.

Whether you require one-off replacement parts or batch production, OEM Dynamics delivers reliable, high-quality aftermarket solutions tailored to your application.

Reverse Engineering Solutions for Worn, Damaged and Obsolete Parts

OEM Dynamics helps customers overcome common equipment challenges by delivering engineered replacement solutions.

We regularly assist with:

  • Worn or failed mechanical components
  • Obsolete or discontinued OEM parts
  • Cracked or failed welded assemblies
  • Urgent breakdown and replacement requirements
  • Components no longer supported by the original manufacturer

Our reverse engineering process ensures your replacement part is not only accurate, but often improved for longer service life and better performance.

Splined Slip Hub & Shaft Reverse Engineering

OEM Dynamics recently reverse engineered a splined slip hub and shaft assembly, originally manufactured as a two-piece welded component.

To eliminate the inherent weakness of the weld joint, the component was redesigned as a single-piece solution.

The manufacturing process included:

  • CNC turning from high-strength 4140 steel
  • Precision spline cutting for accurate torque transfer
  • Nitriding to improve surface hardness and wear resistance

The result is a stronger, more reliable component with improved durability in demanding applications.
